Is there is a greater
calling than the quest to validate an urban myth,
especially one that originated in a seedy Mexican
border town? Welcome
to "The Donkey Show," set in Juarez, Mexico,
a 10 minute walk across the bridge from El Paso,
but another world entirely. It's the place where
Hemingway reveled at the Kentucky Club Bar, Marilyn
Monroe and DiMaggio struck out, and billionaire
drug dealer Pablo Escobar spent his last days.
But is Juarez the home of the elusive Donkey Show?
To find out, an adventuresome
trio sets out to see if the infamous sideshows still
exist, but along the way, they learn much more about
themselves. "The Donkey Show" is a serio-comic
exploration of the relationships and entanglements
of three friends. Loosened by the shadowy but enticing
realm of Juarez nightlife, the trio's bond is tested
by the pull of foreign enticements.
Can friendships endure
when people are stripped of the confines of society?
When anything goes down, what comes up? The
search for the Donkey Show is an exploration no
one could have predicted.
